Atlanta Division Workshop

The Atlanta Division presented "Ethical Decision-Making Models in Clinical

Counseling" on November 18 at Southern Polytechnic State University, with Dr. Virginia

Bell-Pringle of Georgia State University. Dr. Bell-Pringle is a licensed psychologist who

teaches ethics at Georgia State University and also has a private practice. Twenty-six

GCCA members were in attendance and our organization gained 4 new members. The

program afforded counselors 3 Ethics CEUs and Dr. Bell-Pringle taught us different ways

of working with our clients, especially those from other cultures. The speaker gave real life

counseling examples with case studies so members could discuss their thoughts and findings.

This method of experiencing ethics helped us look at some of our own

techniques and patterns in a supportive, experienced environment. Thank you to all who

attended, some coming all the way from Augusta, Savannah and other faraway places. It

was great seeing everyone and for those of you who had to stay back and hold down the

fort, there's always the next workshop and the wonderful annual conference coming up in

February, 2006. I hope to see you there.

Susan Ristau, Ed.S., L.P.C., Atlanta Division Rep.
